At CrossPoinTempe Church it is our desire to:
“give living proof of a loving God to a watching world”
We are committed to introduce people to Jesus Christ, lead them to walk after Him, and equip them to serve Him through ministry to others.
What We Believe
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.
There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
God the Son
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin.
Cross Point believes you must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in order to become a Christian. Jesus is the only way to attain salvation. You can receive His free gift of eternal life by following the steps below:
- Admit that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23).
- Believe that Jesus, as God’s only Son, died for your sins and because He rose from the dead, it is through grace you can be saved (Romans 5:8, 6:23).
- Confess Jesus is Lord, commit your life to Christ and carry on a personal relationship with Him (Romans 10:9-10).
Baptism & the Lord’s Supper
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby believers memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.
